Planting activities in accordance with the guidance of State and MONREC

(1) Planting trees for greening of Beikthano Archaeological site, Taungdwingyi township

A total of 1500 seedlings and of 8000 seedlings have already been planted within the Beikthano Archaeological site, Taungdwingyi township, Magway district, Magway region in 2018-2019 fiscal year and in 2019-2020 fiscal year respectively in the purpose toprovide recreation for visitors to the site and conserving the surrounding of acient Archaeological site.

(2) Upgrading Dry Zone Botanical Garden

As of the activities for upgrading the existing Dry Zone Botanical Garden, Taung Thar township, Mandalay region has beem carried out in 2019-2020 fiscal year. The activities includes gap planting-950 trees and group planting-120 trees for landscape restoration around the garden, establishment of medicinal plants nursery and raising 120 species of local medicinal plants.

(3) Introducting Vietnamese Mangium
Following the directive of the Union Minister of MONREC, Acacia mangium (Vietnamese species) which has good growth rate and tree form has introduced in department’s plantations in 2020 raining season as follows.

(4) Introducing Hybrid Acacia
Following the directive of the Union Minister of MONREC, the Hybrid Acacia species which can survive under severe environmental and weather conditions has introduced in 2020 raining season as follows.

(5) Introducing tissue culture Eucalyptus
Following the directive of the Union Minister of MONREC, tissue culture Eucalyptus species which has good growth rate has introduced in department’s plantations and ABD-GEF Project’s plantations in 2020 raining season as follows.

(6) Introducing seed-balls
Following the directive of the Union Minister of MONREC, seed-balls have also introduced in gaps of natural forest conservation areas and bare lands in 2020 raining season as follows.
