The wind which blows towards the central Myanmar dry zone around the last week of May brings rains. Based on the wind blown in the central Myanmar dry zone, the following weather conditions occur.
(1) If the wind blows from the south, it tends to be strong but no rain. Such wind normally blows during July and August and at that period, no rain occurs in the central dry zone (usually called July drought period).
(2) In June, September and October, the wind blows from the south-east and south-west bringing rains. These periods receive high rainfall.
